41. Mark Hulin

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that I ran into Lonnie twice in the last six months.  We met at odd times during huge life changes twice over now.  And it was odd, we were both wondering of the same man.

“Do you know what happened to Mark Hulin?”

“No…I’ve looked everywhere.  I even went to that little church…I couldn’t find him.  I have always wondered what happened…I had a God moment with that man…”  Lonnie said.  It had been almost eighteen years ago.  I never forgot Lonnie, because when I started work at Gart Sports, he was just out of a wheelchair after having had a horrible accident…he was lucky to be alive.

I always run into people, at random times and in random places.  It makes me feel like a time traveller, now that I’m almost four decades old.  People from different parts of my life, different eras, steps or stages.

“Lonnie!  What a weird time that was, 2000-2001?  Mark will always be dear to me, because I had these three back to back God moments, and the first one involved him.”

“He disappeared, almost.  At first I didn’t know what to make of him, if he was crazy or not…”  Lonnie said.  I knew what he was talking about.  We meet people along the way.  The world is filled with ghosts.

“He would talk to me about having information on the Catholic Church that could take it down and that people didn’t want it written.”  I nodded.

I watched a documentary on the Catholic Church recently that … I don’t much know how to feel on things, some things.  I sit like a gnat in the background, eyes wide, narrating….not quite sure what I’m looking at, but if I describe it long enough, maybe I’ll see the big picture.
